I love trees in winter while their twigs are bare, especially when they are outlined against subtle, pastel skies and dramatic sunsets.

I am fascinated by the fractal patterns made by this common plant which is often just ignored or regarded as a weed. When you really stop to look at it it is truly beautiful. I made this artwork in January, when the stems were bare, outlined against a stark winter sky.
